HILLSIDE RETREAT

Thinking of retiring?  How about retiring your utility bills? 

We call this model the HILLSIDE RETREAT.  Designed as a two bedroom energy-efficient home, that exceeds Energy Star standards.  We can design an energy-efficient home to meet your needs, on your land, or we will assist you in finding a building lot.  This high-performance home uses up to 75% less energy than the typical home to maintain healthy indoor comfort and can be designed as a Net-Zero house.  This home can also be designed with the use of solar photovoltaic's, or solar thermal panels for domestic hot water. The Hillside Retreat features water-saving plumbing fixtures, natural lighting to minimize electric lighting, and healthy non-toxic finishes for a healthy indoor air quality.  When we design and monitor the construction, we offer a two-year written warranty for your annual energy savings.

The original 1923 vintage building is currently occupied by the County’s 911 Emergency Response Center.  The Emergency Response Center needed additional operational space, a new Command & Control Center, and replacement of their mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems for redundancy.  The County also wanted to GO GREEN with this project.  We provided the Design, Move Management, and Contract Administration Services for an Addition, and complete renovation of the Emergency Response Facility.  Our scope of work included Asbestos Abatement, and a Geothermal Well field of 56 wells.  The design features include Anti-Terrorism and Security Measures, for both the building interior as well as the site areas.  The completed project will have a new main entrance archway of polished granite, brick, and pre-cast stone.  The new archway leads to the main entry under a new barrel-vaulted, translucent canopy, offering natural daylight to the covered walkway.

STONY BROOK (Under Construction)

The location of this new 5,000 square foot building is within an Office Park setting of established businesses. The building is designed for the appeal of the business establishment looking for a contemporary office setting with well-established, business neighbors. Of contemporary design, the new building fits in with the surrounding community of traditional designed one and two story brick buildings. The open area of each office entry is protected from the elements by an overhanging cathedral ceiling and roof system. The design incorporates glass to glass detailing at the corners, eliminating traditional heavy framed corners. This details feature enhanced views from the inside, and at the same time provides an open and welcoming feeling for clients or customers from the exterior.

The proposed design for the new 120,000 square foot Science Center will house Hand-On Science Exhibits, Teachers Programs, a Café, Science Demonstrations, Gift Shop, and Theaters.  This is a very exciting project because of what it will mean for kids today and for future generations.  Spaceship Discovery will inspire children of all ages as they learn about science and the world around them.  A visit to this Science Center will give children permission to dream and inspire them to use their imaginations.
